One thing that really bugs me is when I’m absolutely shattered, go to bed and then can’t sleep! Then I don’t want to get up in the morning and go through the entire next day on auto pilot. Here’s a few things I tried to rectify this.

Turn off your TV or anything else that is causing you to think, such as a laptop etc. You may think that these will help you fall asleep but in fact they are keeping your mind active.

You may have a favourite show you watch in bed, the thing is that because you enjoy it so much you will be concentrating hard on it. Your brain needs to be able to sleep so that you can.

Now this is a tip that students use when they need to study. Get yourself a non fiction book that is full of facts but has zero entertainment value. Your brain recognizes how boring this is and shuts itself down, enabling you to fall asleep.

Another good one to try is to have an hour of punishing exercise sometime through the day. If you do this regularly you body gets used to a

Resistance and cardio workouts are the best for this. Once the initial burst of energy has dissipated, your body will start and wind down until it just wants to go to sleep.

If you are visually assisted, remove your glasses or contacts before you go to bed, there are two reasons for this.

If your eyesight is bad without your visual aids, there will be few distractions and secondly your eyes will relax quicker and want to close.

We all know deep down that eating at night is bad for us, but it isn’t only the weight gain that’s a problem. Our brains are very clever and make associations. If you have got into the habit of eating at night, your brain will refuse to shut down until you have eaten as it will be thinking about what to have tonight. Cut out the snacks and sleep will come quicker.

Principles To Remember If Training A German Shepherd

Training dogs of any breed can be extremely challenging, especially when those dogs are German Shepherds. The techniques involved are easy to learn however, and ultimately very satisfying.

Although we tend to associate this breed with policing and as watch dogs, this is an extremely loyal and intelligent breed. Those who have been trained make superb pets and are great with kids.

A well trained dog always makes a better pet than an untrained animal, and much easier to control. Here are a few suggestions to get to your German Shepherd pup to that stage.

The first thing to remember about this breed is that they will always try and hunt for the alpha dog. They were they originally used to herd sheep and this instinct dates from then.

Being a strong figure of authority to a little puppy may seem hard, but for the training to succeed you need to take on the alpha role. You puppy needs to know who’s boss.

At the same time, only remonstrate them through tone of voice, never hit or smack your puppy. These dogs are extremely sensitive creatures and physical abuse can leave them mentally scarred for life.

All puppies are naughty and test the patience of their owners this is just nature and you shouldn’t punish them for it. This is when you just speak firmly and calmly and they will soon know their boundaries, as dogs don’t like being told off.

The other side of this is that you must reward your German Shepherd when he does well. As much hates being in trouble, they love to be praised and if they know there are kind words or a treat, they will try even harder to please you.

Flying Suggestions For Travelers

No one really likes the idea of going to the airport and then waiting for a flight. Airports are dirty and the entire experience often wears us down.

Every little thing turns into an ordeal. Between visiting the pharmacy to buy travel sized toiletries, paying for a ride to the airport, making sure our luggage bag will close, and more, everything can be really stressful to any traveler.

No matter how we try to remedy the situation, there are certain things that we may find to be time consuming and tedious no matter what. On the other hand, a few extra measures taken in advance can make everything far less painful and even pleasant at times.

I’m going to share two ideas that I believe you’ll benefit from as long as you make a few preparations in advance. The goal is to limit the number of headaches associated with air travel, and these two measures will help.

One of the biggest headaches with many people comes with checking luggage. I’m the kind of traveler who always likes to travel with my bags, and I benefit greatly from this. Sure, you might need to pack a smaller bag, but you’ll save a lot of time in the process.

The baggage check can add an extra half hour or more to your overall experience, and you obviously want to avoid this if you can. Not only is there the time factor, but airlines are beginning to charge extra money for checking bags too.

I would also recommend buying a few snacks to bring with you onto the flight. The sad thing about travel these days is that meals are limited and often cost money when they’re available.

Whether you’re getting a few things inside the airport or bringing them with you from your house before you arrive at the airport, it’s key to have a few things to satisfy any hunger cravings while you’re flying. You never know how long you might be stuck on a plane for with delays and all, so some smart planning can help to make the best of this situation in the event that you’re hungry.

Useful Tips To Eliminate Sleepless Nights

Are there any times quite as frustrating as those times when you are tossing and turning in your bed but simply can’t go to sleep? We’ve tried everything we can think of but are still awake; I’ve experienced this many times and now get really wound up about it.

How many times have we lain there, eyes closed, willing sleep to come when we realise there is light coming into the room? The sunrise heralds the arrival of a new day, and another night is over, one in which we haven’t had the luxury of any sleep at all to recharge our batteries.

So what are we doing wrong, and why does this keep happening? We’ve tried everything but nothing has delivered what we promised, what do we do next?

A very common method to solve sleeplessness is to take tablets or medicine. While I don’t actually like to resort to these, there are times when sleep is vital, and that’s the only time I would recommend taking these. There are some good products on the market, such as Simply Sleep, which seem to work very well.

Reading in bed tends to be a good one to help you drop off. As you are warm and comfortable and the light is dimmed, you should find the words blurring together and your eyes unable to focus.

You should try and tip the odds in your favor by getting the most mind numbingly boring piece of written work that you can find. This usually does the job, but on odd occasions that is hasn’t, I may have learned something interesting!

The main point of this exercise is distraction. As you are focusing fully on your book, you aren’t thinking about sleep. This takes me nicely to my last method.

Once you’re in bed and snuggled into your sleep position, don’t try to empty your mind. If you do, the fact that you can’t get to sleep will flood your mind and the anxiety circle begins again. Focus on something completely random, thinking of anything except sleep is the one thing that induces it. Imagine yourself somewhere different, or think of pleasant memories, before you know it it’s morning, and this strange but true method has worked brilliantly.

How To Snooze After Watching TV From Your Bed

Depending on who you ask, you’re likely going to get a different response. Some people simply swear by the fact that they can’t fall asleep without watching TV. Others insist that doing this will keep you awake for much longer than you need to be.

What’s the answer to this controversial issue and who are we to believe? All truth be told, it depends on the person and a few other factors.

TV could actually provide a useful tool for getting yourself off to sleep if done correctly.

With concern to the various ways of using the TV, there are at least three practices that should not be used, which prove ineffective. I will look into each of these and try to come up with possible solutions.

A few will always forget to put the sleep timer on. It is a silly idea not to turn this on; as it will mean that, you have to get up to switch the TV off later on, which will defeat the object entirely.

The change in atmosphere will confuse your body and you may be up for longer as a result. Use a sleep timer, and set it for an hour or two out, as you’ll be putting less pressure on yourself in the event that your timer runs out while you’re still awake.

Also, don’t have it up so loud that the neighbours can hear it, for obvious reasons, but also you shouldn’t have it on too low that you are having trouble to hear it yourself as you will end up lying there awake and ignoring the TV completely so you might as well not have it on at all. Try to find a volume that is somewhere in between the two that your body can relax to.

The next thing is something people always forget, if you decide to watch something that interests you a lot then you will end up distracted from your sleep by the sounds of things that are attracting you too much, your definitely not going to sleep like that.

If the programme ends up being something you really enjoy or are finding particularly interesting then you will have a hard time of drifting off, as it is likely to keep grabbing your attention. You should ideally watch something, which is not too good but just about reasonable viewing.

Helpful Sleep Strategies

If you’ve ever dealt with a night where you can’t fall asleep, you know the agony and the stress that it can cause. Once in a while, I face this problem and I absolutely hate it.

There’s nothing worse than seeing it turn light out when you have to be up the next morning and you haven’t yet fallen asleep. You already know that the day that lies ahead is virtually ruined, and each additional minute of sleeplessness will only add to the problem.

How do you get around this? There’s so much advice out there, but none of it seems to work. What can you do to fix this dilemma?

Many people try to get around insomnia by taking medications. This can be effective if your doctor prescribes one to you, but I’m of the belief that these things are only really necessary if all other remedies have failed.

Here’s a trick that I often use in times of need, whenever I can remember to at least. I’ll simply pick up a book and read it from bed. I do this with the intention of reading as much as my body will allow me to.

Non fiction seems to work best for me, as this genuinely keeps me the least interested in whatever it is that I’m reading. In fact, I seem to do best with the more mundane books in my collection.

I love the reading approach since it’ll genuinely take my mind off of my insomnia issues as long as I’m able to stay focused. In doing so, I’m much more at ease and more likely to fall asleep.

Do whatever you can not to think about the fact that you can’t fall asleep. The more your mind is fixated on this simple thing, the more trouble you’re likely to run into. Weird how that works, but it’s absolutely true.

Strategies For Dating Sites

I’ve been pretty active in the world of dating online for a long time. I find it to be a nice way to get dates, and I’ve really met some great people this way. At the moment, my success with online dating is higher than it’s ever been, due to a number of different factors I’ve taken into consideration.

Too many people simply just throw up a profile that sounds as generic as possible, hoping people will like their picture, or simply play the numbers game and contact them. I have news for you though.

Do everything that you can to avoid the dreaded ordinary profile. This is a bad idea, as you’ll blend right in and many may simply pass you right by. Be yourself, and inject some personality into it.

Too many people say the same exact things in their profiles. Read a few profiles by people of the same gender as you, and see if they’re similar to yours. If they read likes yours does, it’s probably time to make a chance.

When it comes to pictures, show as many of them as you can. More is better, but don’t be overwhelming either. Limit it to somewhere between five and eight, and make the pictures cover a range of activities.

People will definitely be more interested in you if they see you in different situations. Everyone wants someone who adds a little adventure to their life, and the right selection of pictures can definitely communicate such a message.

You should also do as much as you can to personally connect to all potential readers of your profile. They need to feel as if you’re speaking to them directly when they read what you have to say. In doing this, they’ll be much more driven and inspired to reach out to you.

You’d be surprised at how many people fail to consider such simple things. Speaking from experience, I can tell you that a little extra effort will go a very long way.

Why I Run at the Gym Everyday

I’m a huge advocate of running. I know that it takes some effort and energy to make it happen, and I’m usually the first person to prefer just being lazy and relaxing in bed with a book or watching TV.

Even though it’s a nuisance sometimes, the one that that I’ve realized is that I’m always glad that I ran once the run is over. I think this says a lot.

I always feel great once I’m done with any and all runs, and I’ve come to realize that the state of the body has nothing to do with an unwillingness to run. It’s all a psychological thing that just requires discipline.

Running is great for both the body and mind. Not only is it a great means of burning calories and keeping our weight down, but the process of running releases endorphins to the rest of the body, making you feel naturally happy after a run.

They also say that it’s great for you mentally too. It triggers receptors in the brain that make it easier to focus on work and other normally challenging tasks.

No one likes the idea of getting up to go for a grueling run, especially if they’re tired. Still, there’s a clear benefit to running every day and you should absolutely consider doing it for the reasons listed above.

One thing that I make sure to do is to have good, motivating music with me when I run. Doing this will make things more enjoyable, and I find myself paying more attention to the songs themselves than to the fact that I’m running.

Challenge yourself as often as possible too. Not only does this make it all physically rewarding, but the mental benefits are clear, as setting goals will stimulate the mind and make the whole experience more enjoyable. I’m always trying to set new records for myself.

Make Your Long Distance Relationship Last

Long distance relationships are a really hard thing to live through. If you’ve found someone special who lives in a different city, or have a significant other moving to another city, the idea of a long distance relationship is probably one that causes stress and unsettling feelings.

Many long distance relationships fail. Whether yours will endure or not really depends on your unique situation. Having said that, I’ve seen many fail and they generally fail for the same reasons. Listen to my advice closely and you’ll be in a much better position.

I know that some of this may not seem easy to do, but it’s something that you should definitely consider for the sake of your relationship’s chances of working. I can say this from experience, as I’ve made some of the mistakes that I’ll ask you to avoid.

The first thing that’s necessary is that you see each other as often as you can. I know it’s hard since you’re far away from each other, but the longer you go without seeing each other the harder things will get.

Sometimes you’ll see other couples around you and you’ll wonder if you should really be continuing to put yourself through the trouble of never really being able to see your loved one.

Another key factor to the demise of many long distance relationship is when one party shows too much jealousy or becomes too demanding or controlling. Let your love one be him or herself, and show as much trust as you can. This will win you points at the end of the day.

Resist the urge to show jealousy and don’t let your imagination run wild. Trust your loved one just as he or she is supposed to trust you. Like any relationship, one that involves distance must be built on trust.

Increase Your Productivity With These Techniques

I’ve always been big on the idea of making the most of my time. While I genuinely do enjoy my work, I value my free time even more. After all, I work so hard in order to enjoy the lifestyle that I desire.

I really do my best to stick to my work while I’m working. You’d be amazed at how much more you’ll get done if you’re focused the entire time, as it makes a world of difference.

It took me a while to figure out the winning formula, but I’m at a point where my workdays are so much more productive than they’ve ever been. I’ll give you a few pointers that may be of use to you.

One piece of advice that people often overlook is the quality and quantity of sleep that they get. If you’re short on sleep each night, you’ll end up in a situation where it’s a struggle to work every day. This often happens to me, and I can’t stand the idea of wasting precious time because I didn’t get enough sleep.

How much of it you need will really depend on your body. You should probably know the answer by now. Do everything you can to make sure you’re getting that amount.

In addition to sleep, the amount of exercise that you get is critical too. I go to the gym every day and I find that my best hours are the few hours that follow my workouts because my mind is the most clear at the time.

In addition to that, it’ll give you more energy to endure through a day’s worth of hard work. Lastly, it helps you to sleep better at night, which in turn will lead to more productive days.

The final thing that I do is something I’d definitely recommend doing if you don’t. Listen to music through the day. Don’t watch TV and don’t listen to talk radio, as both of these will leave you paying attention to the words, and not to your work. Music will keep you grounded and focused.
